Every template on metropolitanhost.com is sold one format at a time (HTML5, React, Vue.js, Angular, WordPress, PHP or Laravel), under one of three licenses: Personal, Multi-site or Extended. You choose the license on the product page of the format you buy. Each license covers one format of one template.
Which license should I pick?
- One website — your own site or one client’s site → Personal.
- Up to five websites — for example the same template for several clients or several brands → Multi-site.
- Unlimited websites, or an end product people pay to use — SaaS, paid memberships, paywalled content, paid apps → Extended.
- Not sure? Email info@metropolitanhost.com with a sentence about your project and we’ll tell you which one fits before you buy.

All six code formats? Every template also has a developer bundle: HTML5, React, Vue.js, Angular, WordPress and PHP of the same template for 20% less than buying them one by one. Each format in the bundle carries the license tier you choose.
Personal
Best for: one website — your own business site, a portfolio, a marketing site, or a single client project.
You can
- Build one website or end product with the template, in the format you bought.
- Customize the code, design, colors, typography and content.
- Build it for a paying client — you buy the license once, you charge your client for your work.
- Keep using it indefinitely, with free updates to that format.
You cannot
- Use it for more than one website or end product.
- Charge end users for access to the site or app (that needs Extended).
- Resell, redistribute or sublicense the template source files.
Multi-site
Best for: agencies and freelancers using the same template for several clients, or businesses running several brands.
You can
- Everything Personal allows, on up to five websites or end products.
You cannot
- Use it for more than five websites or end products.
- Charge end users for access to the site or app (that needs Extended).
- Resell, redistribute or sublicense the template source files.
Extended
Best for: unlimited websites, and products people pay to use — SaaS products, subscription services, paid memberships, paywalled content or paid apps.
You can
- Everything Multi-site allows, on unlimited websites or end products.
- Charge your end users to access what you build with the template (subscription, one-time fee, membership, paid download or paid app).
You cannot
- Resell, redistribute or sublicense the template source files.
- Offer the template, or a substantial derivative of it, as a template, theme, builder, generator or template-as-a-service product.
- Transfer copyright or ownership of the source code — the license grants usage rights, not ownership.
Rules that apply to every license
- One format per license. A license covers the format you bought. Another format of the same template is a separate purchase, or part of the Developer bundle.
- No redistribution as a stock asset. You can’t extract components or make the template available as part of another template, kit or stock library for others to buy or download.
- No AI/ML training. The template, its source files and any derivatives may not be used to train, fine-tune or build datasets for machine-learning models.
- Attribution. Most of our templates require no attribution. If a specific template’s page says it does, that requirement carries over.
- Third-party components (fonts, icons, images bundled as demo content) may carry their own licenses — the template’s documentation notes which ones are demo content only and must be replaced for production use.
Definitions
- Template — the digital product you purchase, in one format: HTML, WordPress theme, React, Vue.js or Angular project, PHP or Laravel application, or similar code and design asset.
- Format — the technology edition of a template (for example HTML5 or WordPress). Each format is licensed separately.
- End Product — the final website, app or digital product you build with the template. It must be substantially more than the template itself — real content, branding or configuration.
- End User — the people who visit or use your End Product.
- Client — a third party for whom you build an End Product under a license you purchased.
Refunds, updates & support
Refunds and exchanges are covered by our Refund Policy: a full refund within 30 days if the files are defective, and exchanges for another template within 30 days. Updates are free for the life of the template. Every license includes 6 months of support from the studio by live chat and email, answered the same business day (9am–6pm New York time); you can extend it at checkout.
